Grid quality analyses

Grid quality analyses are required at all energy transfer points in the grid. Characterisation and evaluation of grid quality are gaining importance due to the growing proportion of volatile energy sources and the increasing use of power electronic components, not only by consumers but also in energy generation plants.

FKH offers measurements of grid quality parameters at all voltage levels. Our work focuses in particular on specific problems for which no standard measuring systems are available; influencing problems between grid participants are also investigated.

Investigations of oscillations and grid transients at high voltage (HV) and extra-high voltage (EHV) levels present exceptional difficulties in terms of measurement technology. Measuring transducers with adequate broadband capability are usually unavailable for this purpose. FKH has trialled various capacitive and inductive coupling solutions, including solutions for the EHV grid, that can be adapted to many situations as necessary.
